Minik Plus · Privacy policy

Welcome

This policy applies to the Minik family products that link to it: Minik, Minik Plus, Minik Games, and Minik Math. It covers the applicable Android apps, iPhone/iPad apps, and the relevant miniklearn.com web experiences, including the browser-based Minik Math experience under /math/.

1. Summary

  • There is no ordinary child account, username/password, or child sign-in.
  • A child/profile name stored locally is intended for use inside the app and is not published as the leaderboard name.
  • When an online leaderboard is enabled, the app uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication and Firestore for security, record ownership, and score publication.
  • Some versions may show child-directed contextual, non-personalized ads; other versions may be ad-free.
  • Purchases or subscriptions, when offered, are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store rather than by us.

2. Data Stored on the Device

The apps may store a local child/profile name, settings, learning progress, rewards, best scores, language choices, and other preferences on the device. Local information does not become public automatically and is not uploaded to the leaderboard merely because it is stored on the device.

3. Online Leaderboard and Firebase

In products where the online leaderboard is enabled, Firebase creates an anonymous Authentication identifier to secure protected operations. There is no account UI and no email address, phone number, or child login is required.

When a score is shared, the public record may include:

  • a public nickname selected from a limited curated set;
  • an optional curated public avatar, where supported;
  • score and/or correct-answer streak;
  • a random player identifier that is not the child’s name;
  • product/app identifier and timestamp.

The local child name is not uploaded as the public leaderboard name. For security, a private ownership mapping also associates the player identifier with the Firebase anonymous Authentication UID. That UID is not displayed in the public leaderboard.

Sharing can be disabled and the profile’s public score/streak records can be requested for removal without deleting local learning progress or rewards. A security ownership mapping may be retained to prevent takeover or transfer of an existing player identifier.

4. App Integrity and Security

Some versions may use Firebase App Check and platform integrity services such as Play Integrity on Android or App Attest on Apple devices. These services may process technical app/device integrity signals to protect Firebase services, prevent abuse, and verify legitimate app requests.

5. Advertising

Some versions may display ads using Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads. When ads are enabled in a child-directed product, ad requests are configured as child-directed and non-personalized. The advertising provider may process limited technical information such as IP address, app/device information, and ad events for delivery, measurement, security, and fraud prevention.

A product/version that does not enable ads does not send ad requests merely because another Minik product contains advertising support. Google Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

6. Purchases, Subscriptions and Ad Removal

Some products may offer an in-app purchase or subscription, including ad removal where available. Android payments are handled by Google Play; iPhone/iPad payments are handled by the Apple App Store / StoreKit. We do not receive your full payment-card credentials.

7. Reminders and Permissions

Some versions may offer local reminders and request notification permission. The core learning experience does not require access to contacts, camera, microphone, or precise location.

8. Technical Data and Service Providers

Depending on the product and version, Google/Firebase, Apple, and store services may process technical information needed for service operation, security, app integrity, diagnostics, or purchases. We do not use this information to build a targeted advertising profile of a child.

Firebase information: Firebase Privacy and Security. Apple privacy information: Apple Privacy.

9. Minik Websites

The current Minik Math game under /math/ runs in the browser and does not submit its practice answers to the app leaderboard. Websites may generate ordinary network requests to the hosting provider as part of serving pages and assets.

10. Children’s Privacy

The products are designed for children and families. We minimize public information, keep the local child name out of the public leaderboard, and use curated nickname choices rather than free-text public names. If you believe personal information has been provided contrary to this policy, please contact us.

11. Retention and Deletion

Local data remains on the device according to app use and can be removed using the platform’s app-data/app-removal controls. Public leaderboard records remain until replaced, removed through the available deletion control, or handled during service maintenance. We do not promise a fixed retention period for third-party providers; their retention is governed by their own terms and policies.

12. International Processing

Service providers such as Google/Firebase and Apple may process information in different countries according to their infrastructure and legal mechanisms.

13. Privacy Rights and Requests

For questions about information connected with the service, a public leaderboard record, or this privacy policy, contact support@miniklearn.com. Requests concerning information held directly by Google, Apple, or an app store may need to be directed to that provider.

14. Policy Updates

We will update the “Last updated” date when we make a material change to this policy or our service practices.
